I want to setup a fish tank with no corals. im confused about going with or without live rock (dead rock or dead corals). my tank will be 24"x15"x15". also want a suggestion about temperature as in summers my tepm raises to 32C. right now i have a reef tank with chiller, never tried a fish only tank. dont want to use chiller in fish only tank, will install a few fans but. aslo suggest which and howmany fish no damsels.

There is no real point in paying for live rock for a FO/FOWLR tank; any non-reef-safe fish will most likely eradicate the flora/fauna that comes with it. OTOH, any dead rock/coral heads will become live during the cycle as your beneficial filtering bacteria will populate it. With no rock at all, you'll need a good mechanical/chemical/bio-filter (canister, wet/dry trickle, etc), or rely on massive water changes to maintain purity.

well as filters, there will be an oversized skimmer, a top filter that will work as a wet/dry. lights will be 1-t5 24w 6500k, 1 blue t5 and 1 actinic 03. i have a lot of halmedia growing in my current tank so might shift some to this tank. my main concern is temperature. in summers its 32C and with fan i might be able to maintain at 30-31C. will it be ok for a fish only tank? and howmany max fishes can i keep in it.

that depends. show us some fishies you like, Since it's a FO I would try to get a dottyback and keep it a species tank with the macro algae. Splendid dotty's are very nice.lots of other choices to.

I would hesitate to put a dottyback in that tank they can be very mean. Heres a good site for nano fish. If you keep small fish you could possibly add four maybe five small fish.

As far as temperature you really want to keep it below 82 degrees Farenheit.

around 84 degrees. a 6 line can be quite mean, the lion will eat the other fish. a clownfish 2 gobies and a small blenny can work.:)

dwarf lionfish can easily eat a clown goby clownfish or a small wrasse. I like ferretfish's idea. 2 clowns 1 firefish and 1 clown goby can work.:)
