Hey I am setting up a 55 gallon tank with a 30 gallon sump/refugem which can pump out up to 480 GPH. I will Probably have between 40 and 70 lbs of LR and 3" LS. I currently have a damsel, a diamond headed goby, a cleaner shrimp, and a BTA in my 20 gallon which will be moving over to the other tank. For now it will be a FOWLR however eventually i want to keep corals. I wanted to hear any suggestions of what i want to add to to the tank livestock wise. I plan on getting a couple of clowns (not sure on species yet), maybe a bristle tooth tang(one of the smallest species of tang), maybe a squirrel fish, a green mandarin(once fuge is established) and maybe another few small colorful fish. In total a tops of probably 7 fish. I have heard if you keep with caution you could even have a small eel such as a snowflake with your other fish as long as he is well fed. I wanted to hear other people personal experiences with eels to decide on what I would/could get. I do NOT plan on placing all of these fish in a tank I would limit the amount of fish for the tank by their size/bio load etc. Also looking for other recommendations on nicely colored reef safe fish if you have input. Thank you for your help.

I just got a snowflake eel in my reef tank. He seems to be doing great and hasn't bothered anyone yet. He's pretty small right now....about the size of a pencil.

Do you have a protein skimmer? Are you using any other type of filtration other then LR? What do you plan on housing in your sump?

im working on finding a reasonably priced skimmer, the sump is going to have some kind of prefilter a refugium with macros LR LS and then the return....i wasnt sure if i should have an additional mechanical filter as well

just swap the return and the fuge and thats the basic design
