sea horse safe wrasse?

    hey all, my lfs said there were some wrasses i could get that wouldnt bother the sea horses i am getting (reef safe of course). i was :eek:, i thought they would be to fast, but would like your input on if its possible. and if so any wrasses that are blue would be preferd after takiong out the blue damsels that color is no longer in that tank. thanks

    Sure, these lots of wrasses that wouldn't pick on your seahorses, but all of which are going to out-compete the seahorses for food.

    Not a good idea, IMO

    Pygmy possum wrasse would be the only good fit I can think of. Seahorses are hard enough to keep on their on. Adding fish is only going to lesson your chance of success. Save money and headaches by keeping it species only.

    Seahorses are slow and even a bit clumsy, so they don't compete well for food.

    I wouldnt add anything to seahorse tank but seahorse because flow must be low and because the other fish will starve them out

    if you want one get a cryptic sixline wrasse. they r really beautiful and slow feeders. I would get an ORA mandarin

    The problem is that no matter how docile the fish is or how slow it eats the sea horse will be so intimidated by it's close proximity that it will not eat anything.

    They are very shy animals. Pipefish are excellent tank mates.

    really there are no fish that should be kept with seahorses, except for pipefish and occasionally a mandarin. seahorses are the slowest swimmers on the planet, they are not capable of competing with anything for food. you cannot add another fish to your seahorse tank without major consequences such as the seahorses death.
