So I received some corals in the mail today from fellow 3reefer Blackraven, pics to come in another thread. The shipment was good and bad. Good because two of the three corals made it and bad because it was a day late and the biggest coral, a pearl bubble didn't make it. Here's where we get the postal service back. Since the bubble died and was a day late, it was not in shall we say the most pleasant of conditions. The bag was all brown water, bare skeleton, and OMG did it reek! The sharp skeleton cut the bag so now it's leaking this most putrid of smelling liquids. So, the postal carrier comes to my door holding this dripping box in outstreached arms with this disgusted look on their face, promptly hands it over, and speeds away. I can only imagine what her vehicle smells like now. Needless to say I opened the box outside and had to carry out containers of water from my tank to put the surviving corals in. Score one for all of us who have had a late shipment.

i called my local post office at 5pm once when i was supposed to get my package no later then 3pm and they said "oh we're gonna just deliver tommorrow our drivers are done for the day" and i was like "theres live animals in there....if they die, your the one thats gonna have to deal with the smell of decaying flesh....its not going to be pleasant" lol aparently the guy is alone in some warehouse nearby and was like OH JEEZ because he'd be the one stuck with a smelly office lol runs to find the box and has one of the drivers drop it off. the driver was not pleased as i'm sure he was late heading back and i just giggled. lol its good to warn them that if they dont deliver by the date they promised......someones' going to have to deal with the smell.

Or you know what people could just stop using the usps for like a week and I am sure the point would get across that you deliver on time or go out of business. I got a package from John it was a day late looked like they played hockey with it. Hey you know what I think we should start posting pics on here of the package's we get that say fragile and look like they were drop of the empire state building. Just venting.

They really do have a price that's crazy cheap compared to the others though. It's literally 1/3rd the price of UPS for small overnight packages, and 1/2 of the FedEx price.

I am not trying to defend anyone here, but, consider this.....
you have X number of drivers, Y number of trucks, and Z number of deliveries.......
if you have more drivers than trucks you're in great shape....
if you have more trucks than drivers you're hurting.........
and if you have more deliveries than your drivers can make ...... something is going to be late.

    Just saying......

I understand more work than time. I used to delver office furniture. But when the package in at the terminal at 6:00 am and you don't get the package till 1:00 pm and you are guaranteed the package by 10:30 and you call and the say it was held up by the weather six States away someone needs fired. Or better yet you get a package that says fragile all over it and it looks like a bus ran it over and they say we don't guarantee perishables are you kidding. Sorry just venting but now I pick my packages up at the terminal if they are alive or I wont order from that person.

I get tons of packages delivered, and it never fails, the ones that say 'fragile' are ALWAYS more beaten up than the ones that don't.
