I just noticed tonight that when my Scopas Tang had to poo, she turned almost completely black within a matter of seconds, then let out a big one. Trashed around a bit to get the poo off, then turned back to a golden / black mixture. Very interesting. Also I noticed the eyes keep changing from almost a black iris, to a yellow iris and vice versa. Has anyone heard of this behavior? Can't find much online about it, though I know Tangs are known to change colors due to the lights going out and such but that's usually losing colors not gaining them.

Haha, very true. I'm not too worried. Thought it's interesting and cool, doubt it's unhealthy though she looked a little constipated haha.

Heh, the poo thing is pretty funny.

As for the eye color, I don't know if you mean the iris or the pupil. The pupil changes depending on the angle you catch it at.

Yeah, I mean, that's a good point. Lots of people mix up the terms though.

I have a scopas and he does the same thing. Changes colors all the time, especially at night, but often during the day too!!!!

    Its a cool fish!
