Schooling questions

    I was just wondering if a school of 3 yellow striped cardinals (Ostorhinchus cyanosoma) would even stay together in a 29 gallon tank.

    I think fish in general don't bother schooling with the absence of the threat of predation. However, the Cardinal may be the exception rather than the rule, so here's a bump for your thread. :)

    They may hang out near each other in the tank, or they might not, but I don't think you will get a true "schooling" effect in a 29 gallon tank.

    IMO wait till you have a very large tank and get around 20-25 of these guys :)

    Look for good stats, and low teacher/student ratios.

    Oh, that kind of school!
