Thanks for the input Andrew. :)

Also noted. It's an appealing feature; one that I didn't think I'd really use. But everyone saying "you'll want that" makes me thing otherwise.

    Thanks for the input.

i have a RKL Plus if i had to buy another controller again i would buy a reef angel because of the program ability if you like doing that kind of stuff.

My favorite feature of the Vortech module is that feeding mode times can be programmed at certain times. For someone that relies on auto feeders a lot, like me, I think it is a very handy feature as food isn't swept all over the tank.

The Vortech controller doesn't allow you to pre-set feeding times.

No, it certainly doesn't. I don't use an autofeeder unless I'm going to be away from the tank for a few days, but this is a rather good point I had not considered. Thank you much.

I'm pretty set on the Apex at this point; now to wait for a good deal and/or I'm ready to pull the trigger and blow my tank budget for a couple months :D

Oh just do it already, Hunter.. They're hardly on sale (although, I bought the Apex Lite during the Black Friday sale for 11% off). Get it today, use the heck out of it and dont look back! LOL

You'll be really happy with it!

Another benefit to getting the WXM module is that you can have it automatically run different sequences at different times of the day. I have mine cycle through reef crest, nutrient export, pulse and tidal swell mode depending on the time of day. Also having multiple pieces of equipment and the pumps all respond to a single feed really is nice.

Which is good because I ALWAYS have a problem with frikking wireless access points :p

    I ran a 50' network cable to mine :)

This ended up being the right thing to do anyway because my new solar system (yeah, the one I installed to lower my tank's electric bill) needed network connectivity.
