    that's an 'electric scallop' but it's not actually electricity or light at all but a piece of flesh being whipped around ... you know what, I can't describe it well...

    anyway, I've never heard of one living more than a couple months in a tank...

    Mine made it a week and I was feeding it daily with phyto. Had to try one though but could think of other things I should have spent my money on.

    I've got two electrics. They are very hard to keep and require feedings. I've only had mine for a week or two, i started out spot feedings of phytoplankton but now it's difficult to spot feed since they have move, so I have been feeding the tank a capfull of phyto every other day in hopes they will catch some.

    I don't think lighting matters with the scallops, just mainly feedings. Deffiently do some reading up on them, I bought mine just to see how long I'm able to keep them alive. They are deffiently very neat creatures
