sand bed depth?

    Looking for how much sand to use in a 75gal tank. almost their to add the sand.

    The norm is generally around 1.5 - 2 inches, unless you plan on setting up a DSB... you'll need 3+ inches for that.

    As much or as little as you want. It's your tank and you need to set it up how you want it to look and for whatever occupants you plan on. There's no magic number.

    No magic numbers, but certainly some scientific ones. I suggest, just off the cuff, that you use only about 1.5-2 inches as Mr. Bill stated.

    I have 1-2 in my 75gal in my other 75gal i had 3-5in in some places but I dont think in a DT i would do that again.

    personally.. if you dont plan on getting sand dwellers then as little as possible with big grain sand so you can add lots of flow without sand storms..

    if you want wrasses and such 1-2 inches should do fine.

    You could go bare bottom as well if you want.

    Biggest mistake I made ^^^^^ go light in the display tank. I say add a little if you want more than add more dont do it the other way around :) happy reefin

    also if you use sugar grain size sand then it will be like a DSB with only 2 inches.
