Hi guys just another question again. I went to my lfs and one of the guy told me to get " TLC Saltwater StartSmart Complete". Apparently by using this product, I can skip the cycling process and start adding fish/corals in 48 hours..... Just wondering what are all your thoughts are. Should I buy it or not? Thanks!

If you are going to use this method I suggest checking out DrTim's!

I can't say anything about that product but I have used Dr Tims One and Only which is the same idea, providing the bacteria you need from the start.

I have used it in 2 tanks and have placed fish in on the 2nd day and they have been perfect.

Be careful. These products do have what they say they have but you have to give the bacteria time to get to your rock and substrate and get settled in. Make sure you wait a few days to run your skimmer and go really slow with stocking.

While it does help, I have user the dr Tim's. You do still need to cycle. It just helps cut down and is an alternative to adding live rock and sand that may have unwanted pests and algea. If using it still allow time and make sure you are testing for ammonia and nitrite and nitrate.

I'm in agreement with what others have said. I know a lot of people report positive benefits to Dr. Tim's. I would probably use the product but still allow a good cycling time in addition to......one thing in this hobby is PATIENCE - not a virtue of mine but a must in the hobby :)
