This is my first time on this site (sorry if not in right place). But I started my first saltwater tank. I noticed some things growing and I have researched them and get mixed answers on what they are and how/or what to do with them. So any advice PLEASE!!!!!!

OK FIRST PICTURE RED THING-BEEN TOLD IT WAS BAD AND THAT I MIGHT BE A TYPE OF CORALINE(GOOD) OR SOMETHING ELSE(CANT REMEMBER BUT BAD)
THEN THERE IS A WHITE THING-BEEN TOLD IT WAS A TYPE OF SPONGE WHICH IS GOOD

OK SECOND PICTURE TOLD IT WAS APTASIA AND IT WAS BAD GET IT OUT -OPTIONS FOR DOING THAT BOILING WATER ON IT OR JOESJUICE OR BURN IT WITH A LIGHTER. SOME DO SAY GET PEPPERMINT SHRIMP THEY EAT IT.

please help I just got into this and dont wanna have to get out of it already.

not sure about the first pic but info on the 2nd one seems to be accurate. I've read the shrimp are 50/50 on eating them. there are many products to use, including joe's juice.

In the first picture I cannot confirm what the red one is. The white spot to the right of it in the same picture is a sponge. It's good a have. - A harmless filter-feeder. The right picture is aiptasia. Yes, it is bad, get it out. You can use Joes Juice, or even a squirt of lemon juice.

Well first of all Welcome to 3Reef! I am not sure of the first pic but the 2nd one in my opinion looks like aiptasia. No need to panic but you do want to act fast to get rid of it as soon as possible. I would first do a google image search and confirm that it is aiptasia. There is a ton of information on 3reef to get rid of aiptasia. Use the search option and start to research all the possible threads regarding its removal. The more information you have the better decision you will make on how to proceed. I spend more time researching than I do playing with my tank! Peppermint shrimp have worked for me in the past BTW. Good LUck

Pics are kinda blurry, but the red thing looks like a mushroom (sure would be nice to get a clear pic). The 2nd pic is an Aiptasia. If you have a syringe you can fill it with boiling hot water and squirt it into to mouth of the Aiptasia and watch it melt. Bye Bye Aiptasia. I've actually used hot lemon juice in a syringe the one time I had a couple. Have never seen them since.
