    Hello,

I just startd a FOWLR tank that is 125 gallon last week. I have one fish which is a black percula clownfish.

Anyone have any good info or a link to some good info on water changes.

    Thank you!

a 1 week old tank with a fish? wow bro, you definitely need to slow down & hit the FAQ section. read about the cycle a tank goes thru and alot of the basics. a fresh tank has a chemical & biological cycle it goes thru before it is prepared to sustain saltwater life.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
It is always a good idea to know the values of ammonia, nitrates also current specific gravity. This will help you determine the amount of water to change. Knowing the values of Ca, alk, ph and magnesium will allow let you know if you have a problem and what intervention to take. So getting a baseline on how the chemistry of the tank works is important.

An old standard is 10-20% monthly with a stable cycled system.

Mix the salt with RO/DI, to desirable SG, allow it to sit over night. Try to make sure the temp of the new water is not to far off from the tank water.

Make sure you turn off any heater and pumps that will be exposed to air if the level of the water falls during the water change. Personally I just turn everything off, just be safe.

I will look for a link with more generalizations for water changes and post it.
