salt

hi,i just ran out of salt ,dont remember what brand i had.is there a brand that i should use if i have fish and corals?

 

Opinions will very greatly on this one. I still use regular Instant ocean, but that was because I got an awesome deal on bulk. I think when the times comes next though I am considering going with IO Reef Crystals. They seem to get pretty good reviews across the board.

 

ahhh,yes,thats what i used to set up and maintain the tank"10 months now",it was instant ocean.so far so good,but might consider a reef related salt?

BrightWell Aquatics NeoMarine Salt Mix.

Red Sea coral pro is what i prefer (when i can afford it)

haha, only down side to red sea is that it takes some time mixing.

 

speaking of mixing,,,i get a 20 gallon pail of ro water and mix it to 1.025,,then i add as needed or do a 10% change every month,,this has been working well for the last 8 months. how do you add?

 

that sounds good, though not sure of you get salt deposits at the bottom of your 20. as far as i know if your tank is stable 10% WC is enough but im still a n00b at all this my tank has been running less that yours, about.......5 months now i think.
