OK I had tons of dead coral decorations in my 150 salt fish only. It has been in a box for ten plus years. How do I make sure it is safe for my new set up which will be a reef with a couple of fish. This is some nice looking stuff and should look great with coralline all over it. Any help will be great.

All you need to do is boil each piece.

one question, did you ever use copper in the fish only tank the dead coral decorations were in?

[Bump] So how do you test the items you want to use for copper.

not sure how to test for it. but im thinking if copper was used with those dead coral pieces it would absorb into it and be hard to remove. hopefully someone who has dealt with this will know how to test for copper.

i have read once corals or rock has soaked in copper, pretty much impossible to fully remove. It will slowly leach out.
