I have a small clown that keeps getting sucked into the overflow so I put some screen and a rubberband around all water entrance holes to ovf (rinsed it all in ro first). Could this be harmful to the tank itself? I was thinking siicates because its plastic screen, but wasn't sure about the rubber? Any help would be k+, later.....

silicates are no problem, you may see a small diatom bloom but it'll clear up in a few days to a week. you should be good to go :jester:
