I just want to thank everyone on these forums 3reef.com and recently joined Reef2Reef.com as well. There are some very nice knowledgeable people on these forums that helped me get my aquarium up to date so to speak. I had some ups and downs along the way. Many times ready to give it up and kept on trucking instead. I have learned a lot over the years. Since I never really done a build thread I made a video instead.

12 years in 11 minutes. So once again thank you all and enjoy.

    Keep on reefing. ;D

I used iphoto and iMovie on the Macbook to get it done. It was a fun project.

Thank you I felt the stand was way too low. So I added a 2 x 6 frame underneath it and wrapped it with molding. Since all the equipment is in the closet I took the doors cut them up and made the boxes. The canopy was made from a single sheet of 3/4" Plywood. I'm gonna add LED on the boxes to display some coral skeletons when the kids get a little older.

Thank you guys glad you enjoyed the video.

Water movement Tunze, Jeboa, Vortech, Koralias

    So many choices, so many different types. In a 125G 72" long 18" W 24" D

you can get an MP40 for $565.00 plus the Reef Link then add 1 more MP40 for $465.00. = $1030.00 or just two MP40's for $930.00

From what I've read. They are awesome, Pricey, noisy, a few issues with the wet side of the pump. Can be controlled by apex I think.

Tunze you can get the Wave Controller 7092 for $80.00 and two Turbelle 6065 at $141.00 each = $362.00

No real reviews found. Except for the controllability issue not as simple as Vortech's

Hydor Koralia Smartwave Kit w/ Hydor Koralia Evolution Powerheads - 1500 GPH for $191.00

    Didn't really research these.

    JEBAO WP-40 13000L WAVE MAKER each with a seperate control running about $80 - $120 plus a dual controller for about $80.00 - $110.00.

I know it's all about affordability, noise tolerance, preference.

Is Vortech taking over because of control-ability? It sure isn't price!

Has Tunze fell off the market? With the controller can't you achieve the same as vortech's

Does Jeboa and Koralia even compete with the top brands?

In the past I avoided high price items made a lot of DIY stuff. Some good some bad. I'm just looking for honest user opinions about the products in question. I was thinking of the Tunze option for my 125G. What do you guys think? Planning for future growth in the reef aspect of it all.

I really liked your video and the tank looks great.
A lot of people are using the jebao pumps. I switched from koralias and a smartwave to a wp40 and I'm glad I did. I think the vortechs are good, but to pricey for my budget

If you can afford Vortechs, and the noise isn't an issue, go that route. Otherwise, my next choice would be Tunze. I have Jebao WP40s in my 125. Awesome powerheads, but one motor crapped out after only 8 months use. Seems common with them. Tunze are known to be very reliable, so pay more, but shouldn't have to worry. Koralias are good for basic setups (softy tanks, LPS, FOWLR, etc), but I wouldn't rely on them for SPS tanks (IMO).

Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I forgot I had coupons from RAP so I ordered these Tunze Wave Controller 7092 and two Turbelle 6065 it was a 50 dollar difference from jeboa's set up.

    Thanks DSC

I was down your way last night moved my cousin to Tittusville some guy tried to kill me on I4 on the way home. I was so tired..... That guy must of been wasted. He pulled out from the emergency lane in front of me swerved all over I4 and ended up in the other emergency lane a few miles down. I thought he was gonna flip over.
