This is for a drinking filter :)

First, my membrane holds a capacity of 50GPD. I haven't changed my flow restrictor in years (maybe 8-ish years). I was reading around and they say you need to change your FR (flow restrictor) with your membrane. A lot of sites were saying that, so I'm now starting to look for a new one. Then I can across this:
    https://www.wattspremier.com/products.php?product=Flow-Restrictor-500-spiral-kit

As you can see, that's a different FR. They claim that you don't have to replace it and all you do is clean it ever time you change your membrane (assuming it's the same 50GPD capacity). So I was thinking that it's a lot better to clean it, then to buy it each time, since it costs around $10+.

So what do you guys think of this new FR?

On that same note, I have another question. I took my RO system apart and I have a few things I don't quite know where they belong...
First one is the right-angle 1/4 fitting. My RO has like 10 on them, but this one is different because the male part fits a 1/4 but has a 1cm hole only (about the width of a piece of rice). The only place I could see this part fitting was the waste tube, where the membrane housing connects to the waste. I assume since that's where the least amount of water passes through, it would be the perfect spot.

The second one is the auto shutoff valve (ASV). I was reading online, but I don't know which is the high or low pressure. What I notice was that if you look at the ASV's holes, there's one you can see through it and there's another one you can't see through it. I connected one you can't see though it from the last filter to the membrane (water flow to membrane). The hole where you can see through it, I connected it from the membrane to the carbon inline filter (water flow from membrane to filter/post-filter). Just wondering if I connect the ASV correctly.
Here's a picture of my RO system, it's almost identical except mine has 3 pre-filters.

And I think that's it. I hope you guys can help me :)

We'd be happy to help you out. It would be best if you give us a call when you're in front of the system.

What do you think of the flow restrictor?

I would much rather see you use a capillary tube restrictor for $4.
