I am looking for suggestions for an RO/DI system. I have been looking at several online however there are so many with different options, rates, etc... that it is difficult to tell which ones are good and which ones are not. I am not looking for a huge system, 50gpd is plenty. My source water runs ph 7.0, TDS ~65, phosphate ~.25 and there is no chlorine in the water. My main concerns are membranes that will produce the least amount of wastewater and a system that is efficient in general. I would also prefer to keep the cost as low as possible, too, however I don't want a cheap toy that won't perform. There are pages and pages of them on e-bay but I don't know what to look for. I would appreciate hearing about what people have found to be a good system and also about those that fell short and why.

long and short, that question illicits alot of debate on here! But expect to pay about $150 and learn to tweak it as you have it! I bought an AquaFX and love it, spectrapure makes a great system too! It seems you want abouta 4 to 1 wastwater to made water ratio! Next i'd look to make sure you can swap out the filters with normal filters and not a special filter and that the DI unit is vertical so the water gets as much exposure to it as possible! outside of that, get a decent system and upgrade the filters later as needed!

Cosmo is right both are great. Only major difference is spectra pure filters are finer thus they filter better and they test all there membranes for 98% rejection.

Also there DI is hand mixed to be the best. My membrain is 6 month old and still produces 76 tds In 0 out. What more can I ask for my di last forever.
"If I has a out put of 2 TDS my DI would be done" that's why you only wanna run high rejection membranes
