no he needs a 3 way valve to replace the existing cold water valve under the sink--It has a 1/4 inch outlet to hook the ro system up to. Home Depot sells them.

If it looks like how the others are describing, and it looks the same to me, the braided hose needs to be replaced.
You will need a feed adapter which will go inline with your water feed, you don't want to pierce braided hoses: http://filterdirect.com/product_info.php?cPath=29&products_id=184
I don't see how the waste water is being disposed of, but you will need one of these if it's not already there, which gets drilled/connected to a drain pipe under your sink:
    Filter Direct Online Store (C)
Outside of these things, it's hard to see the rest of the connections on your system and how it's connected.

I definitely appreciate the attention and help this is getting, especially with absolutely no idea on plumbing. I do have a saddle clamp but havent put it on the drain pipe yet. My biggest problem is that I am in an apartment and can not turn off my main water. Is there any quick connects I can put on the end of a faucet to run when I need it?

Trying to hook up an Ro/Di filter in an apartment is a heck of a lot more trouble than I was expecting. I spent the better part of the day between several home improvement stores and have yet to come up with a way of getting the 1/4" tube to get into the water supply. I guess I will keep try since having a saltwater reef tank was a hobby I have been looking for.

The feed, you can use the valve I listed above, you don't need to alter anything. It goes inline with the existing plumbing, all you need is teflon tape to seal it.
As far as the drain for the waste water, you can just run that into the sink directly, or you can have it go into a container bucket and use that for water plants or whatever. You don't "need" to drill the drain pipe, it's only for convenience really. I hope that helps. :)

Every piece of info. I can get helps. I found a pretty good site that had a couple of adapters for Ro filters. I ordered an adapter that will go on the actual faucet head. I almost messed up a lot of plumbing under my sink and decided to just go this way. If the piece comes and works very well, I will definitely be promoting the site I used much more ( Abundant Flow Water Systems Inc. ). Customer service has been great so far.
