I am asking this here, because I think it is somewhat of a newbie question...

I just got a blue ricordia that is unattached. I cannot seem to get it to voluntarily attach to a piece of rubble. We have tried using a tupperware container with some rubble in it and placing it in a low flow area. He doesnt seem to like that....I have seen on other threads people using rubber bands.....can someone tell me how to do that or if I can do that with a ricordia?

    Thanks.

you can also get a superglue gel. put some on the stem and attach it to the rubble.

Thanks....that really helps. I just don't want this guy to go flying into some crack in the rock over night and die.

I have superglued other corals - I just didnt know that I could do that with ricordias

Good luck with the superglue method. Im not saying it won't work, but I have had crappy luck with that method. If it's a fesh cut shroom it will simply slime it's way out of the glue. Sometimes they can take up to 3 weeks to attach to some ruble. Good luck.

Going along with what divott said, this has worked for me: Take a small rock (or whatever) and put superglue gel on the rock (not the mushroom) out of the tank. Lay the mushroom on top of the superglue gel on the rock and leave it there for a minute. Yes, you will get slimed, but no harm there. I have better luck gluing that way than trying to put the glue on the mushroom and putting it on the rock. Does that make sense? I probably just confused you!
