So as of this morning my return has died. Not a big deal all things considered. I only found it because it shocks you when you stick your hand in the water.

I was running a Rio HF 14, but it has a few major problems. Loud, slow flow, poorly made.

I need suggestions as to a return that I can pick up ASAP (All equipment offline with no sump return. ) That is under 200 bucks. Anything from MarineDepot can be here tomorrow morning, or I have several other LFS that stock just about everything.

    My top needs:
1.) Flow (Needs at least 500gph at 5 feet)
    2.) Quietness
    3.) Price
    Thanks all.

I got in a pinch and I was needing closer to 800 at 5'. I was running a pan world pump that was noisy as heck until a snail destroyed the impeller. My LFS sold me a Danner mag 9.5. and it is amazingly quiet! And relatively inexpensive! Also, it runs a ton cooler than the pan world. It can be set up off line, or submursed. I have it set up offline (external) and it is great! Very impressed! I am going to rebuild my pan world and keep it as a spare!

Very cool. Thanks. That was on my list of possibilities. I like the cost, but also in the mix are the Eheim 1262, Tunze Silence 1073.5, and the Sicce Syncra 4.0.

    I really appreciate the feedback.

the eheim and the tunze you have listed are both good pumps, I am currently running a danner mag drive for the first time and am happy with it also. Ran the eheim 1262 for a long time then sold off my system and set up my 90. the only reason i have the danner mag versus the eheim is when my reef octopus pump went out the LFS only had the mags in stock.

I'm in a similar situation. No broken pump, but trying to find a good return to set things up. I've pretty much narrowed it down to the eheim 1260 or the mag9.5. Be interesting to see what you pick up.

Cool thanks! How is the danner vs. the eheim?

I use the Marineland 5500- 1385 gpm, quiet, always restarts in a power off, etc.

    Not too pricey, etc.
    Made in Italy!!

It meets all your needs in the OP.

I wanted the eheim, or the reeflo too but my LFS did not stock it them and I was in a pinch...I think most LFS stock danners.
