How do I go about dosing h2o2? Fill a syringe, remove the rock, blast it down, rinse, and replace? Might work since I am about to re-scape the tank but generally removing the rock disturbs and streses too much stuff out in my tank, 3 big 10-15lb rocks and 1 5lb rock. What I target blast them in the tank itself? Doesn't seem safe.

What about dosing vinegar or vodka? How do I do this too? Add 3mL of vin or vod every week and that's it or is there something I'm missing.

Dosing to me sounds like the sure fire method of killing the algae, I'll give it a try especilly on the few spots of bubble algae I have.

Matt, last night I added new snails and more flow, this morning it has noticeably gone down. Granted a turbo snil is sitting in the middle of it, so something is working whether its the newly added snails or the extra flow, probably both!!

Do coral acclimate to flow changes?

You can notice the snail on the bottom left eating the darth sith cyano stuff! Otherwise tank is doing great..

Big water change tomorrow, I'm mixing 10 or 15g right now, not sure to just to the 10 or do the 15 since I am going to be moving rocks around for the first time in forever and cleaning out back chambers of cube... better go with the 15 I guess

Just did a big WC and move around my rocks a lot but I like the look.. only scare right now is I think I've seperated my goby and pistol shrimp. Gonna take some time and coaxing to reunite the pair.

All I'm getting from other people is that it's cyano... which I've never had but from my times seeing cyano it doesn't look like this... it creeps more and doesn't "sprout" these evil lookin w/e. I dont know what cyano feels like but like you said, this stuff feels almost like cotton or something. Since I've started this post 3 or 4 days ago it has gone down quiet a bit. Gonna just keep blasting it with flow and try to lower my nitrates and phosphates by dosing .8ml of vinegar for the next week and see how that turns out then do another WC and if i'm having success with the vinegar I guess i'll bump it up to 1.6ml a day for another week until the algae dies off.

I read some awesome articles about dosing vodka, sugar, and vinegar and they all seem really smart. Less nitrates/phosphates in the water allow corals to grow much better and healthier.

Looks like dinoflagellate to me. I could be wrong but the tell tale to me is the "balloon bubbles". If you clean it away, is it back in a very short amount of time? I had it a long time ago. Water changes made it worse it seemed. I reduced flow, manually cleaned off as much as I could find, then did a 3 day blackout. Haven't seen any since.
