Pardon me for this not-too-bright question. I'm setting up a 75 gallon; this is my first time with saltwater, so I'm not up to speed on protein skimmer operation. I have the Remora AquaC and the Maxijet 1200n setup. My question is, should the AquaC's reservoir be filled with water prior to plugging in? Or am I supposed to allow it to fill on its own from the pump?

Plug it in dry, it will fill up when it is pumped.

Mine has been running about 1 1/2 weeks and it still isn't producing large amounts of skimmate, hopefully it will kick in here soon...

Good to hear from someone who experienced the same! I have heard nothing but good things about them but I was starting to wonder. My skimmated is about up to the overflow now, I'm looking forward to watching my milk jug fill up! Do you clean your cup like the manual says and if so how often?
