So I think my Regal Blue Tang has ick but not sure. He does scratch himself a lot on the rocks, eyes a bit cloudy, and a few small white spots on him. How do I cure the Ick on him? I have several corals in the tank now, Ammonia, Nitrate, and Nitrite are all in normal range, just had water checked today. But I am not sure on the best course of treatment for him. I do have some Damsels, a goby and some other crustaciens in the tank. I have a left over 10 gallon Aquarium but I would have to set it up and buy new filters, and a new heater for it.

Any recomendations on the next best course of treatment?

I have been reading a lot of Garlic methods but no idea where to obtain them nor how to use them or how effective the treatment is.

Copper Treatment out of question because of corals, and QT tank is out because of lack of supplies to set up(And costs =-/)

Most all fish have ich, it just does not show its self tell stress is induced.

I would start with getting some garlic infused food like Thera+. Also I use a product called "The Fish Keeper". It is an all natural treatment that is only 5 days long and you dont have to do water changes.

I added Kent Marine C to the sump as directed--soaked my food in Zoe (also by Kent) and clipped a Romaine Lettuce leaf with Garlic juice rubbed on it. Sometimes it is just better to keep them eating well, and let they're immune system beat it. Mine have all recovered every time!!!!

I rub garlic juice lettuce daily--it is a natural attractant and boosts the immune system. Also if they get used to that smell--you can rub it on anything you want them to eat. IE broccolli etc.

Even if he is only but 2 inches? Uncle has a 125g and was planning on when he gets around 4-6 inches move him to his tank.

it's not about size. it's about swimming room. This isn't enough room for the tang to "let er rip" so to speak.

+1 Robman. I do the same thing when Ich pops up on my fish and within a week or two it's all cleared up. As long as it eats you will be fine.
