Be very, very careful attempting to "bond" the acrylic to glass. M-Ocean is spot on when he states there is not bond between the two.

You'll be running a risk of the baffles coming loose, especially over time.

I just used the DAP stuff myself over the past weekend and it worked pretty well, but smelled something AWFUL! I'd suggest doing it in a garage if the weather's nice enough.

    Cheers and good luck!

I was reading the GE silicone 1 and it says it is not for use in aquariums so I was weary of using it.

Was there something I am specifically looking for, I don't want to use it in my fuge and end up polluting my tank.

GE 1 will say that as a "cover their butt" type statement. They do not want you to go out, build a 2000000 gallon tank out of their silicone, flood your neighborhood and look to them for damages.

You just want to be sure NOT to use and silicone containing anything other than silicone like: mold inhibitors, antifungal, antimicrobial, etc.

I know there isn't much bond and lie you said the pressure its holding back is minimal.but id rather use the 1 for plastics so it bonds better too the acrylic I know it probably wont be super strong but id assume its stronger then silicon 1

To the best of my knowledge, you will not find a silicone that "bonds" to acrylic.

So holding the baffles in place is the best you can expect for that application.

For the dozens and dozens of us who have constructed our own sumps - it has worked without fail.

Or you could check with a local glass place, it cost me $30 for 4 baffles. I had them cut 1/16" shorter than the opening figuring I could sand it if needed. They fit perfectly.

Exactly what I was getting at, however if there is a significant difference in water levels between the baffles you could have a blow out

no it wont have a significant difference in water height. i know it probably wont be a super strong bond, ive built sumps before using ge type 1 but i saw this stuff and figured id get it and if its safe id use this stuff.

im just not sure if its safe to use or not.
