Neptune Systems makes one that is comparable that you should consider as well. They are pretty close on price but each has some give and take as far as features goes.

Mine works great. Love how easy it is to program and they company has an upgrade program in case you want to get the elite down the road.

I have one and love it. I am thinking about upgrading to the elite so I can get more modules for it. But if you only need 4 this is the one to get.

For right now I only need 4 ports but down the road I know I will need more. One of the main reasons why I was looking at this one was for the upgrade possibilities later on and the min timer.

I looked at the comparable Neptune Systems and I love the fact that it already has the built in ether net port. Something else that’s nice about this controller is Aquanote, where you can control your tank from your phone. The sad part is the developers stop updating the app but the one that is floating around the web if you can find it, is pretty stable from what I have read.

Has anyone tried Aquanotes for the Neptune systems?

It isn't called Aquanotes on the Apex systems... not sure it has a name.. odd.

Either way, I have a full version of the Apex. It has a very good App for the Android. You are able to check statuses and change states of every outlet on the system. I have never had an issue with it.

As for non-phone. The Apex uses a built-in web server. You connect it to your home network, then just access it through your web browser ( IE, Firefox, Chrome, etc). It is super easy to configure from the browser based menus. Nothing to buy to make this work... YAY!

Do you currently have, or more likely to get, a Tunze powerhead or Vortech powerhead setup?

This seems to be one of the biggest factors when selecting a controller. RKs are geared more to Tunze, Apex toward Vortechs.
