So John from ReefCleaners was very kind and gave me a custom cleanup crew. I was wondering, I am trying to keep costs down and was hoping to Priority Mail. On the US Postal service page it says priority mail takes 2-3 days and it will only cost $10 on the reefcleaners.org website. This is really good and in my budget, but at the same time, whats the likelihood of my CuC dying in transport? Seems to be quite a long time to be in a box. Heres the recommended cleanup crew he gave me and give me your opinions whether they would survive or not.

    20 Dwarf Ceriths
    9 Nassarius
    9 Florida Ceriths
    6 Blue Legs
3 Large Nerite and 3 Small to medium Nerites

You will want to go with what John recommends. He's top notch and throws in extras and knows his shipping. If he says you need overnight, do overnight. If 2-3 days is OK by him, then go that way. He's the man.

I just ordered my first order from them. They came highly recommended from this site. Let me tell you this THEY ARE AWSOME. I ordered 30 dwarf ceriths they sent 90+ at no additional charge. I ordered 10 nessarious got 20ish no additional charge. I dont know about the hermits. But i had it all sent priority all survived. I now am trying to sell 50 snails on craigs list. lol

    Hope this helps

I believe John requires orders with hermits to be shipped overnight because hermits are too sensitive to be in a box for 2-3 days. If it's just snails, you can do priority.

John knows his stuff, my club has used them a few times for group buys and has always been super pleased.

ask john. tell him where you are too and he might know you're close enough to do a slower delivery method. he's in FL, so...

This all sounds like great news. I will definately be ordering this from them in a few days. However, I would still like to order some hermit crabs considering how expensive they are around me. It says on his site they SHOULD be shipped express mail, do you think he will still ship them priority?

I wouldn't try it. How much extra is the overnight shipping? If that difference (between overnight and priority) plus the cost of the crabs is still less that what it would be to buy them locally, then do it and use overnight. If not, then just buy them locally. And get your snails from John and use cheaper shipping.

Nvm just saw your answer. Thanks very much! Would it be a bad idea to buy this order even though my tank has been only setup for a month? I have quite a bit of diatom growth....... Currently have a chromis in there right now though and he seems to be doing fine.

It's fine to add a CUC for the diatom bloom, provided you're ammonia and nitrites are at 0ppm now.
