Reef budding?

    Another 3reef member posted this awesome photo and made me jealous. :)
    Is there anyway to make this happen for me? My LPS usually grow in bulk then split, I've never had them bud like this.. any recommendations?

    I don't think there is anyway you can make this happen. We control and manipulate probably more than we know in this hobby, but I don't think this is one of them.

    If I'm seeing nice coloration and healthy signs of growth why am I not seeing new buds?

    I think this depends on the type of coral it is. All my frogspawn and torch corals have grown new heads, I have never noticed buds like these. Do you know what type of frogspawn it is in the pic?
