    So doing some research it looks like the reef breeders LEDs are about as good as it gets. My tank is cycling and I would like to eventually have some corals. I have a 55 gallon tank. 48" long. Will one of the value lights they offer work for me. It's the 120 watt model. Would rather go LEDs but they are so expensive. Hoping one will work because I can't drop 400 on two of them.

    I don't think you would get the coverage you are looking for. You would need to go with 2 of them or the 32 inch fixture

    You are looking at $360 for 2 of the value fixtures with 120 degree optics, that should be plenty of light for any coral you want to keep.
