When you open the two doors on my tank stand there is a supprt bar in the middle that restrics me from getting to my sump or even removing the thing. I want to remove this bar and put up some other type of support. My thoughts are adding in 2, 2x4 on each side with a ceiling angle support added to the center.

This should give it proper support and just wondering if any one else has attempted this or what has other done to open the bottom up on your stand?

My 100 gl tank is sitting on an old tv stand it has no support in the
middle just on the side . the tv was in the stand . to b safe i put 2x4 on the inside of the stand . in the 4 corners .the tank has been there for 10 years.

I have seen the center support removed but they ran a 2x4 across the top and mated it the support that already ran the length and then 2x4's at the ends. Problem is you have a full tank so unless you empty it and take the load off the new supports wont be true load sharing. Also make sure you can rebrace properly before removing the center brace
