I've got a RBTA that seems to remain shriveled up most of the time and i'm getting a little concerned.
I bought it attached to a pretty large rock and placed it in a moderate flow area pretty high in the tank under a 15k 250w MH. The tank is 55 gallons. It's still attached to the rock as it was when i bought it and my thoughts are if it didn't like it's location it would move, no?
I just purchased a 6 bulb T5 light that i will be setting up over the weekend so maybe that will help?
All other corals are healthy and vibrant so water quality isn't an issue.I'm stumped.

Guess i should tell you guys it's been in my tank for about 2 weeks and seemed to settle in just fine for awhile.

have you tested for stray voltage? If it's a flow issue I would have expected it to wander to a more suitable spot. I know they like to be able to attach kind of hanging under a ledge for protection.

No i have not tested for stray voltage. I guess maybe i should.
I have the rock sitting flat just the way it was in the tank at the store and it was nice and inflated at the store.Again, i would think if it didn't like it's location it would move on it's own.

    Thanks for the suggestion. +1:)

I actually tried feeding it dried Krill about a week ago and it took it but then let it go.It does inflate sometimes but mostly it stays shriveled.

Do raw foods. Mine closes @ at night for a couple of hours but most of the time stays open.

    Do you have a picture?

You never know. They are some weird little dudes. Dangerous. Some say Evil. I had one that hated brown zoas. It would go and grab them and bring them back and rip them apart. Just the brown ones. Well it would sting the crap out of everything along the way of course. But it would always go back for the bits after I would find and move them. Eventually I gave up and let it have the rubble. So yeah, evil freaking killers. Watch Your Back.
If I were you, I would get ready. Wall it off. Seal it away from the rest of your reef before it wakes up. There is still time.
