I want to put a rbta in my reef tank but I have heard people saying that they will sting corals. So I was wondering what other people think.

They do sting coral on contact. They are not extremely difficult, but BTAs are not a walk in the park. How big is your tank? How old is your tank? RThere are many factors to consider.

I have added a a bta to my aquarium and everything has been good for about a month or so. I was worried about it moving around and stinging all my precious sps corals. I researched as much as I could about what they liked and tried placing it where I felt its needs would best be met. I also moved as much of my corals away and prayed lol. After a day or two I fed it a little bit and continued to feed it fairly regularly to keep it happy and in one place lol.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I have kept them in a mixed reef as have many others. I was aware of the gamble and precautions I need to take. You have to weigh the risk of them getting caught up in powerheads and overflow, or unexpectedly dying. In my current tank with mostly SPS I would not risk it even though I had no issues in the past.

my tank is a 75 and its been up for about a year or so? and I really only have one sps that I would be sad if it died and I have frags of almost every coral in my tank so I have a back up if any of them die. I think I am going to try it if I can find a good price for it. =]

I got a pr of maroons so a BTA is on the radar...my thinking is to get it early in the game so I can see where it settles and then place everything else around it
