Testing it numerous times a day doesn't matter if it is off from the get go, it will be off numerous times. If you want to use a hydrometer have it double checked with the LFS. Also, soak it in vinegar over night once a month.

Indeed, you are fine. I kept a fish only 55 gal. at 0.19 SG for 10 years.

To the contrary, lower SG inhibits parasites, in fact, hypo-salinity (as low as 10-12 SG) is used to kill off parasites.

"I'm just trying to help why dont u try it?"
I am, I am a coach and hence I am trying to get the members to think things through before giving possible useless or damaging advice...turns out the SG is fine. Why did the SG go down instead of up?

personal i think that his hydrometer is off and the sl is fine but just incase im wrong there are different ways to attack the problem he said he was having
. i think if his salinity have been want ever it was it should stay that way for the sake of stable water prams

eh..i would just slowly raise it with top off water with a low to normal salinity...better to keep it stable with low changes once a day then to quickly bring it back up. just my 2 cents.
