Hi, Cuttingras just got done reading your tank for sale post, glad you are still here.
    My parameters are:
    Ca 400
    Mg 1590
    Alk 11 dkh
I am starting to have a Green hair algae problem and was hoping raising my Mg up would help.

no your parameters are spot on. how long are you running your lights for and do you test for phosphates? are you using ro/di water? many reasons for gha!

might want to bump up the ca to 420...

    (AND THANK YOU!)

Mh are on for 6 hours Actinics for 9 hours.
I feed every other day. Nitrates 0, Phosphates 0, and I use ro/di water.
I just changed bulbs 1st of March. GHA started about 2 months ago

it may have started when your bulbs needed changing, cause everything else looks good. How about having your MH's on for 5 hours and your actinics for 8, that might help curb it a little. What is your tank temp? Do you have a good clean up crew? Might want to talk to John at Reefcleaners. He'll get you what you need to eat that GHA up at a reasonable price.

also, when's the last time you changed your ro/di filters?

I will cut back on the time. I have used John for my clean up crew and as you said great service and price.
Tank runs from 77 to 80 on average.
