Yesterday I introduced a juvenile Raimnsford Goby to my tank.  It is between 1/2" and 3/4:" in length and is not as big around as a pencil.  It spends its time hunting/picking the sand bed and then disappearing into the aquascaping.

Who can shed more light on these way cool fish?  Best thing is it was $14.99 at the LFS!

RainfordI Goby ;) Needs a bit of hair algae to survive and a bunch of little critters. I started having problems with them when I introduced cirr. wrasses to my tank. I think they out compete the Rainfordi for what he wants.

Beatitfull fish Craig, it looks like you got it in time. The belly looks good, so does his/her color. Typically, they're starving by the time a hobbyist is able to buy them (they come to me starved 90% of the time)

Thanks Gresham, not my fish, I stole a picture on-line.

It has been out and patrolling the sand and gobbling up whatever it seems to like. It did munch on some cylopeeze last night. I don't have any hair algea in my tank. It appears healthy, but disappears into the rocks frequently. Mine is for sure a juvenile, just a little specimen, but the color and markings are exquisite. Will watch to see if it fattens up. I understand they mature at about 2.5".

Will post a picture if I can time its public appearances.

I give mine cylo-dipped ocean nutrition pellets (broken) , pin head crickets loaded with nori, spriul, and other veggies....he turned 1 (in my care) last week....mine almost died before i got him on the veggie loaded crickets (i know im a freak). Ive had one with a clown goby in an eclipse three for a while now...the court-jester goby is one of my favorites....very nice deal on that guy too.

Great looking fish Craig. Best of luck!
Maybe in time it won't be that shy.

Well today it is out more than ever! It is constantly hunting just like tthe Yellow Wrasse which was a prodigious pod eater. This guy though never gets more than a couple of inches off the sand bed. Very cool when it fully expands the dorsal/anal fins.

Here it is picking a morsel out of the sand.

I have found many reputable online dealrs that sell newborn crickets....I usually buy from premium crikets...They are one of the few companies that send you the size they specify (many companies ask you what size and give you something close). heres the link... http://www.premiumcrickets.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=500
Also you can find a ridiculous amount of online dealers through google. ;)
