Quick RO/DI question...

So....i tested my RO water to make sure it was still filtering good. and it wasnt, it shows some high ammonia in my new water. So i changed the filters out, ran it a few days, then tested it again, and its still showing high ammonia in the new RO Water....has anyone else had this problem? It seems to me like if i change the filters out, it should get rid of the ammonia problem....i made sure to get all the right filters and everything, i dont know what could be wrong.


on a side note, would it be ok to use a conditioner on this water to use for top off untill i figure out whats wrong with the RO unit?

You tested specificly(sp) for Nh3? Or you test everything? Do you use a TDS meter? I only use a TDS meter. That doesnt sound right. I think that some how your container where you store the water got contaminated. where do you have your R/O unit? Luna

 

I tested for Nh3 specificaly, i dont have a TDS Meter, not real sure what that is to be honest. When i test my water i usually just....oh crap wait...wait...i might be a dork.....i think i used my Nh3 SALTwater test kit on my fresh water....i bet that would cause it to be off...maybe.

The unit is in the kitchen under the sink btw.

 

Yes, yes...there is no way for Ammonia to be in pure Ro water.
