    i dont use hermits... i know a few others who dont either. Its up to you but personally, i find them to be not that intricate of a part for a CUC. My tanks do just fine with 1. stomatella 2. dwarf cerths 3. cerths 4. nerites 5. nassarious

    I am by far no expert on the subject, but i am a fan of the hermit crab crew... They are good little workers, adept at picking clean the holes in my rocks.
    The blue legged variety are quite peaceful, but the reds will murder a snail now and then. IME.
    I have 15 asorted hermits in my 34 gallon tank.

    That could be handy, as my rock was use by someone else and I have made it live again. After cleaning it the best I could there is still crud in some holes.
