    hooked up my octopus 1000 HOB a few days back everything seems normal starting to produce some skimmate and this weekend it will be time to do a water change I thought I read on a thread about unplugging the skimmer while doing this but I cannot find the post....I just want to know the correct way to go about it any advice would be great thanks!

    If your skimmers pump will come out of the water during the water change then yes I would suggest you simple unplugg the skimmer during your water change. Then once you are done with your water change go ahead and plug it back in.
