Was it bleached out and white with purple tips when you bought it 2 months ago, or was it tan colored?

99.9% of all in a LFS look like that , I have had many to be sent in direct from the point of collection and they are the browner looking color , I think many just expel their alga's once the are put into holding tanks and captivity and lack of light, I have several a the shop all rich deep brown came in like that and still look like that under the M/H' I sent one to a person in Ca last fall he said his was getting to the prettier coloration of the white and beautiful purple tips LOL .. I had to break the news to him .. Don't recall if it was on this or the other place I go to ? It was funny LOL He thought he had found a secret to make them look better LOL One I had here was dark as tea under the 10,000 K 400's the 14 allowed it to lighten a tad.

Is it possible that the creature is dying and the ammonia is still at zero?

If it was ammonia spike then it would have just melted into a hard blob and be floating away in chunks and you would see this slime covering ad it would look like ?? I'll just say nasty , I can see the tentacles and all it looks to be deflated and since you said you gave it food a few days earlier I think that well maybe the cause. Its full of waste and need to dump it and up take new water , They are just a sack of water anyways .. I have seen them to re inflate in hrs and I have seen them spend a week or so like this . But if its dying you'll see it change .out to the above description and then you flush it fast don't let it get to the point of melting onto the sand . Does it look the same as when you took the photos better worse same ?

IMO that last pic doesnt look good, the other looked as if it was just changing it water. but that last pic looks alittle different. in the past when i had an anemome die on me he looks just like tangster said, its foot lets go and floats around the tank in gooie little ball[mine was a seabe too]. keep a close eye on him, and good luck

I'd give it another day or so watch out for it starting to dissolve and sliming up then if that starts Toss it . Are you using carbon and running a skimmer ? I don't really see any real disintegration of the flesh or any slime looking stuff covering the flesh yet . It don't look good but it don't Look dead either .. I have had anemones to lay like that for a week or more then pop right back and the sebae is about the hardiest reef species there is if there where a reef anemone :)

thats pretty funny...but i didnt know that the good healthy colors for those seabe are tanish. that explans why most look white and purple while the ones at my favorite LFS were alway tan.
