Another question has been brought up...
Sea Urchins are they reef safe? Should I ditch it?

I just tore down my tank and replaced the substrate with sand as you may be doing also in the near future.I made a thread and it may have some useful information for you.
Check it out under the General forum it is labeled" Reddogs tank teardown and substrate replacement thread " sorry i dont know how to add that link directly. You will be using alot of the same steps I took to transfer your tank.
Hope this helps.Feel free to ask me any questions about the process if you have any

LOL don't be scared. All pests can be dealt with. Just patience is required in this hobby.

I love urchins. Most are reef safe. Do you know what kind it is?

Well you'd like a tuxedo then.

Longspined urchins on the other hand, think about it: sharp pointy bits + soft fleshy corals =

As with most things deemed "reef safe' proper husbandry comes in to play

Okay...I was on my way to pick up the rock and stuff tonight... and the guy informs me the rock has a TON apatacia (no idea if i spelled that right)

I just searched for this...and it doesnt sound good.

Is it time to just walk away from this deal?

does no one else think 50lbs of LR and 40lbs of crushed coral alittle overkill for a 33gallon tank?
