Ok so I dont buy a lot of tanks but at my LFS the owner said he would let me have a 150G tank for $200 is this a good deal? It is just the tank so any advice if i should take up this offer or if there is a lot of cheaper out there of this size. I been looking for a big tank just dont know what is reasonable. Thank!

A catch there could be! A tank of that size for $200... Is a great deal it's so great I don't trust it... The only time I see a tank that size for nearly that cheap is when petco has there a $1 a gallon sales... Which isn't often...

First.... Is this a brand new tank or a used one?
    Have you seen this tank?
If you have seen it ask how old it is.
Check for cracks scratches or any other defects... Being through is the path to not having a bad time...
It's not rude to inspect goods before purchase. If the LFS gives you a hard time when you do inspect it... then just walk away...
Question everything you can think about it...

I'm assuming this tank is glass and if it is check the silicone, inside and out any gaps or parts that don't look good will be a problem later sometimes sooner than later!

I had a 150 that i bought with a stand for 400 so 200 for a new tank is good. I assume it s been sitting there taking up space for a long time and they are willing to sell it at cost. My local Petco has had the same 150 sitting there for 1 1/2 years but will not cut it loose for under 450.

Well i have gotten along with the guy very well and we trade frags and all and its the only LFS store in town (Excluding petco) because he locally owns it and ive seen the tank it is just sitting there because he moved shop and now has even bigger ones for the bigger fish (piranha tank, shark tank, etc) so it is used but it has no cracks or anything since it was filled with water until his new 250 replaced it and now it sits in the back. I just dont want to get ripped off is all

Sounds like it is a good deal. If you have a good relationship with the owner, then by all means grab it!
