    Yeah, It's hard to tell what all is in that rock. Reef rocks are composed mainly of calcium deposits.. some people use Texas holy rock because it's cheaper but it's still a limestone that is known to be safe for reef aquariums. Just taking any old rock it could have metal and/or silicates or who knows what other kind of stuff in it.

    Well... I can't remove the rock because my sabae has attached to it. After reading all over this site HE should be dead, but actually the anemone has DOUBLED in size since I got him 3 mos ago. I added him to the tank right after it finished the cycle and he is magnificent.

    boiling it wont remove any metals... I think it should be fine in your tank. See if you can find out what kind of material the rock is made of

    you better knock on wood. anemones are finicky, ive lost enough of them to know that lol.
