Question / need advice

Well I'm home and the news is in
I lost two acros and a bridsnest my purple haze monti is in bad shape
And I have sone real bad receding on my chalices

The cause alk was 6.5 yes I said 6.5 so I went and got brightwell 8.2 alk
In started doseing so well see I hope what's left will live
I'll update in a week or so

 

6.5 isn't ridiculously low, but a fast swing to there would be bad (ie - change water being way off from the tank water).

Don't raise your Alk too quickly...

Just wanted to update this I did lose some things I'm not sure why my alk dropped so fast.
I'm guessing because of the large water change and not testing the stores water I had 0 nitrate and 0 phosphate but anyway after a few weeks of monitoring my alk and dosing it daily as needed things are looking good. I'm going to post pix in my build thread

thanks Corailline me too I was a bit freaked out I was losing stuff that I had in my 29 that was growing like weeds and then poof gone but I think im good now just have to watch things close
