so i got a 125g with drilled corner overflows. my return pipe is 1.25 in diameter. how do i connect that pvc to a nozzle?

the nozzle is something like this :

Opentip.com: Current USA Y Return Nozzle Fitting for the 12 Gallon AquaPod

where can i find nozzles that connect to 1.25" PVC. would i need a reducer to a 3/4"?

also if i go with the reducer to accept the return nozzle, will i have problems returning water back to tank since my drain is 1" and my return nozzle is 3/4"?

quick answers please , im in the middle of plumbing my tank. thank you!!!

As long as the overflow pipe is big enough, I wouldn't worry about the reduction in flow from the return. Overflows pretty much can't have too little flow. The only issue with it is sound, which is a fixable issue.

I think Locline makes an NPT adapter. You'd need to step down the return diameter yourself to the right size for the adapter.

    It's E on this page.

    1.25 return pipe?? That's big.

How big is your overflow pipe?

I would split a 1.25 return into two or more 3/4 nozzles... a 1.25 water column is a LOT of force.... I'd spread it out into a few nozzles.

thats how the aqueon 125g came. two drilled holes in each corner. im assuming the 1" hole is my drain and the 1.25" hole is my return. so i get a pvc reducer from 1.25 to 1", then another reducer from 1" to 3/4"?

    im looking at that link

but shouldnt my return be atleast the same
thickness as my drain , otherwise i would have a hard time returning the water from my sump to the DT?

I think you've got that reversed.

The 1" should be your return line from your return pump. The 1.25" should be the drain line heading back to your sump. My Mag 24 only has a 1" outlet.

A gravity fed 1" is not going to keep up with a pressure fed 1.25" unless you put a weak pump on there and then you lost a bunch of pressure for water flow.... doesn't make sense.

I'd advise using the 1" off your pump and the 1.25 for the drain.

but the description for this tank says rach overflow can handle up to 600gph. wouldnt this mean the drain is 1" and the return is 1.25" ?
