Question about halides

    I think It all comes down to personal pref. You might run into some problems with heat if you go to two 400w mh but it also will depend on how you set it up. as far as k rating for you bulbs what are you looking for? 10k are great for growth , 14k has a little bit better color for your corals and the growth is ok and 20k are slow growth but great color. I have 2 20k 250w mh on my 46 bowfront and I love the color and the growth is fine.

    Thats exactly what I was thinking, putting the softies out toward the ends and hard and clams in the center. Maybe this is just wishful thinking and trying to be cheap.

    2. 250's 14K's and 2 48" URI VHO super actinics . Only reason I'd not add any actinic is lack of space in the set up like with a Nano then the 14 K is the best you can do..

    i am guessing you did not acclimate them to the new lights? that was most likely your problem.
