    I know the motto of going slow, but is there any point of quarantining the first fish going in a new tank after cycling is stable ?

    QT it is. Was thinking of a Watchman goby to start with, add a Pistol now or later ?

    Yes, I agree. I see it as, the first fish is just as likely to have ich(just an example) or any disease as any other fish you will put in there.
