QT HOB filter with UV?

About to start my 20g QT tank. Found this HOB filter that has UV and surface skimming function:

Think this will work for QT tank? Is surface skimmer an issue for medicine? Seems like a great idea for QT. Anyone tried one of these?

Surface skimming is not an issue; in fact it could only help. However with a lot of medications you do not want UV. Make sure you can run this without the UV (I imagine worst case you could remove the bulb).

 

Oh, did not realize UV and meds did not go together. Thought it was the opposite.

What meds are effected by UV?

I've emailed them and asked them if it's possible to turn UV off (or take out the bulb). If so, then it's a win-win. As it would be beneficial when monitoring fish. If not, then i'll go the marineland penguin route and get some other type of UV.

Cupramine and Prazipro off top of my head. I am sure there are others as well.

 

Wow thats really cool, dont know how effective the UV will be with an unknown dwell time but let us know!
