    It is a vermitid snail. They coil around until they have a good base or reach adult size and will then start extending the tube straight out if it is having a hard time getting food.

    that the biggest one iv ever seen i have a bunch in both my tanks but they are really small

    I have had a few get that size. I try and remove the large ones since they irritate my SPS with their feeding lines. The little ones that are the size of a mechanical pencil lead I don't worry about.

    Well thanks, that settles it. I don't have any SPS, nor will I in the near future, so I'll let it live.

    That is good. They would live in my tanks if they weren't bothering SPS.
