pump recommendations

    I had the intake of an iwaki plumbed up and over a glass sump. It worked just fine but maintenance was a nightmare . . . putting an external pump on a shelf above a sump is just asking for trouble.

    I second that ... ;D

    I would drill the tank and put a external with a manifold so you have room for expansion later on. Weither it's adding a PO4 reactor or carbon reactor or chiller, it's nice to have a port to plug it into and have a pump big enough to handle the extra load. I always over size my pumps and put a valve after the discharge to dial it down where I need it. Once a pump is maxed out then you have to upgrade to a new one later on.

    So far so good. Having hard time fine tuning the durso stand pipe, it's a little loud. I don't have enough flow in the tank so i ordered two Hydor Koralia #4's Pumps and extra heater because there is allot of water in my system now
