    I have a 90gal DT..

    I'm Moving my sump into the basement, and have a question about the head pressure...The sump is going to be about 12.5 below the top of my DT..

    I was looking at a Iwaki WMD-30RLXT AT bulkreefsupply..It says this:

    Max Flow: 1140 GPH
    Max Head: 13.5 Ft

    Then I read this on another site;

    Model: WMD30RLXT*
    Flow Rate @ 4` Head: 960 GPH
    Max Head ft: 13.5

    If I ran this pump what kind of flow could I expect in my DT?

    We need to see the whole curve, not just two points (0 head and 4'). Also, keep in mind for your calcs that you calculate from the top of the water level in your sump up to where it is pumping to. If you only have 6" or so, it would not really matter. But if it was a foot or two, it may.

    That is what I figured. If you want any kind of decent flow, you will need a pump with a shut off in the 15' range.

    Now, any reason you couldn't raise where your basement sump is to lower the head you will need to pump against?

    Possibly, But not by much, maybe a ft or 2.. I'm looking to set up a 30gal water change tank along with a 30gal Refugium..So I want the sump to be the lowest out of the 3.. Does that make sense?

    It does. I was just throwing that out there as a cheap way to get a less powerful pump.

    Thanks Marshall, I really appreciate it! I think I'll go with the Pan World 200PS, It's 75$ cheaper and should give me more then enough..

    FWIW, we're running that pump on our 210 gal peninsula build, and it works well, altho it's not the quietest pump I've ever used. However, since it sounds like your pump will be in a basement, there are probably no worries there.

    Our pump is outside in an equipment shed, so it's not an issue for us.

    Just tossing that out there before you buy the pump "just in case".
